How I long for your sweet embrace once more.
Your touch so soft and tender sending tingles of energy through my skin.
Our lips meet, our bodies tense as we can feel each other’s thoughts and wants.
Our embrace grows tight as our lips become inseparable.
Years of love overflow in an instant as we hold each other.
The love between us causes time itself to stop and marvel at us.
Prolonging that instant our lips push fully together.
The moment passes and our lips separate.
Our eyes open and time moves forward to catch up.
Our embrace ends but it’s followed by two words.
Our lips move together as all eyes turn to us and the words are spoken for all to hear.
“l do”
There I sat waiting to board the plane that we would be taking for our honeymoon, then I remembered there was something I was supposed to do before I left. I had to make a call, it would be to my best friend who wasn’t at the wedding, she had been stuck at work and didn’t have the time to fly down to attend the wedding.
They called for our group to start boarding. I realize this was the last time I would be able to call her for more than a week. I grabbed my phone out of my bag and headed into the line letting anyone pass me that wanted to. I dialed her as I walked slowly hoping she would pick up before I got to the front of the line. “Hey Kell I’m at the airport now, the wedding was beautiful you should have been there.” I said speaking quickly as she answered the phone. “Aw I’m sorry Will, I wanted to be there, but I just couldn’t leave work. But I hope you enjoy your honeymoon, I’ll see you once you get back right. I should be back by then, well hopefully I will they are starting to talk about staying here longer. I already missed your wedding. I’m so not having fun right now.” Replied Kellie, then I heard my wife’s voice. “Baby come on it’s time to get on the plane hurry up.” I waved back to her, so she knew I was coming, then grabbed my bag from the floor, and hurried to the front before they called the last boarded section. “I’ll talk to you later Kell, I have to get going now. I’ll call back when we land, and I’ll make sure and give you all the details of the wedding next time I call okay Bye.” I said almost dropping my phone as I ran to get onto the plane.
I handed the flight attendant my boarding pass, fumbling around with my phone. I finally caught up to my wife in the plane, she was standing in the aisle where our seat was, waiting for me to get to her. She had saved the window seat for me, I smiled as I kissed her and got into the seat. I looked out the window for a second, then I turn to her as she sat in the seat next to me.
She smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek, before buckling her seat belt. I smiled as I sat back in my chair, it had been a very long busy and hectic day, but it was so amazing. I relaxed as I looked over at her I could see she was tired. After all, we had both been awake since two in that morning. She was inspecting every detail of everything, while I made sure everything was coming in as planned. Not to mention the hours it took to get ready, well really the hours it took her to get ready, but after seeing her, I knew it was worth it.
I gave her a kiss on the cheek and sat back in my seat buckling my seat belt. “Baby get some sleep you look tired, I’ll wake you up when it’s time to land ok.” I said with a smile. “Ok I will, but you need to get some sleep too you were up before me, and you didn’t even sleep the day before.” She said back to me as her eyes closed. I looked at her with her eyes closed, I was tired too, but she was wrong about one thing I hadn’t slept for a week, and I didn’t think I was going to until we landed that night.
I sat waiting for the plan to take off, it was one of my favorite parts of flying, the moment the plane left the ground and the countdown to when we would be landed begin. I looked at my watch a few more minutes, and it would be six then the plane should be taking off. I looked over at her as the plane’s engines turned on, she was already asleep, she must have been more tired than I thought. I looked back out of the window as the plane went down the runway, it turned and the sun was now on my side. I watched as it grew closer and closer to setting then right as the plane lifted from the ground it slowly faded into the ground below. One of the most beautiful sunsets I had seen in my life made only better by the amazing day I just had.
I closed my eyes and managed to drift off to sleep after almost an hour. As I slept, my mind wondered about the day, and what was ahead of me in my new life. Soon my thoughts stopped as I started to dream, this dream was nothing special to most people, but to me it was. It was my first dream in years, well not just years it was my first dream since I was a little child.
In my dream I was sitting on my bed in my new home, it was ten years in the future. I knew I was still happy. However, a lot had changed, as I looked around the room I could see pictures of two children in picture frames all over. I looked at the photos and knew instantly they were mine, they were exactly what I always wanted, twins a boy and a girl. I smiled as I was looking at the pictures, then I felt a tug on one of my legs. I turned to see the two of them holding onto my leg. “Daddy you promised to take us to the park to…” My son started to speak, but was interrupted by his sister “When are we going daddy?” She said with the biggest smile I had ever seen, all I could do was smile back and take their hands in mine. “We will go now my little ones, come let’s get your shoes, you can’t go to the park with no shoes now can you?” I said to them as we walked out of the room one on each side holding my hand.
Beep. “Please buckle your seatbelts securely, and put your seats in the upright position. We will be beginning our landing descent shortly.” The pilot’s voice said over the intercom waking me from my dream. I looked over and saw my wife sleeping on my shoulder, she must have moved when I was asleep, I smiled and kissed her forehead. “It’s time to wake up baby.” I said softly waking her from her dreams.
The plane landed and we left to get our bags. We watched as all the bags from the plane passed by in front of us on the conveyor. A few minutes passed then it hit me, I had told Kellie I would call her once the plane had landed, I might as well do it now while we were waiting for the bags to come around. I reached into my pocket for my phone, but it was gone. “Looking for something?” She said holding my phone in her hand. “It’s our honeymoon, which means no calls to work, no calls from business partners, and no talking to any women that isn’t me.” She said with a jealous smile.
